Hopefully, my faithful readers will enjoy today's edition of the Random Dozen hosted by Linda at 2nd cup of coffee. Thanks, Linda, for "getting me out of the house" to talk with others. Ha!
1. Are you pleasant when you're ill, or are you a grumpy, fussy patient?
2. When you find out that school is canceled (due to inclement weather) what is your gut reaction?
As a homeschool family, my first question is, "Do WE take the day off?" If it seems like it may be a one day event, then I usually let them play outside and watch movies. If the cancellations go on for 3+ days, then we get back to it before everyone else. By then they need some focused work to do. (for my sanity's sake.)
3. What is one domestic skill you wish you could improve?
sewing
4. Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day?
Not usually, but I have done it.
5. What song is on your mind today? The Father's Song by Matt Redman
6. Do you prefer contemporary movies or classic?
I'm a TCM girl all the way!
My favorite book/movie (besides Gone with the Wind) is Random Harvest.
I do not have the compartmentalizing gene! Everyone knows when something is wrong; I just can't help it. I try not to over-dramatize (well,
8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse? (Or if you're single, to your best friend.)
He listens well. (plus, the blue eyes and mischievous smile).
Tell me, you couldn't limit yourself to just one thing, could you?
9. When was the last time your heart raced?
Can't tell you!
Actually, when thinking about Ronald Coleman - answer # 6.
Just kidding!
Maybe # 8 though. ;)
10. What are your memories of Valentine's Day at school?
I just remember the joy of exchanging cards. I would fret over just the right one to give each person and hope that the boys understood the "deeper" meaning. :) I loved decorating an old coffee can as my "box" and it would be deposited in the back of my closet for further perusal throughout the year.
11. If you were going to receive candy for Valentine's Day, which would you prefer?
Something chocolate and caramel. Yum.
12. Red or pink?
Both! I grew up in a red/pink room (Really! It was the 70's/80's, folks.) Red shag carpeting/pink walls...so pretty! :) I love to wear both colors. They're dead even for me; my two favorites.

I've never seen Random Harvest. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
I would love to explore old movies, just not a TV or movie person. I go to movies as a way to get out of the house, don't watch too many at home...some pressing chore always gets in my way.
Great answers
Amy
I think we had very similar rooms growing up (the 70's mostly for me)...we had red trim and the wallpaper was little pink and white flowers with a touch of red. Just writing that now makes me wonder how I slept...it sounds very distracting!
Haven't seen Random Harvest...I like old movies so will look for it. Have a nice day.
I had to laugh at your room. Mine was yellow and orange. Thinking back now, I wonder how I ever slept. lol. Enjoyed your answers dear! Your #1 cracked me up. And I love the song you picked, listening to it right now. Thanks for sharing.
until next time... nel
Gone with the Wind is also my favorite! I always love finding fellow Scarlett/Rhett/Ashley/Melanie fans!
Oh - shag carpeting! An older friend of ours who was selling her house was trying to remove the bright red shag carpeting in her daughter's room from 'back then'. They ended up having to refinish the floor after it all came up. It had been glued down or something!
I think we're in the same area. See my blog...
Laughed out loud at #1 and #9 :) I am one of those when I am mad everyone thinks I am upset or tired too.
Chocolate & Caramel. You can't beat that! You did a great job here. I did it for the first time at http://wtit.blogspot.com. Have a great night.
The Lucy pic for your answer made me laugh. We love Lucy at our house .
I am a TCM fan, too! I have seen so many classic movies, but I have not seen this one. I am definitely going to put this on my list. I have a private blog wherein I catalog the movies I've watched lately and any Robert Osborne facts I think are worth remembering. Nice to meet you, thanks for playing along this week.
Wow! A red shag carpet and pink walls! WHat a great girl's room.
Isn't it wonderful as a homeschooling family to decide how and when to take time off?
Thanks for visiting my Random Dozen.
My room was Raggedy Ann! I was so cool lol! Loved your answers!
And the LUCY pic stole my heart! I watch her weekly!

Thank you again for all you lovely comments!
Hi Angie! GWTW is my all-time favorite movie, too! I read the book when I was in the 4th grade and fell in love with it.
I would love to see a picture of your red/pink bedroom! The room and walls of my bedroom were always rather nondescript but, oh, did I accessorize! :-)
Loved reading your answers!! Have a wonderful weekend!
